Fremont Street has long been a staple tourist attraction of downtown Las Vegas, featuring bars, the Fremont Street Experience, street performers, hotels and casinos, and restaurants. Fremont’s newest addition is Commonwealth Bar, located on 6th and Fremont.
This project, fully remodeled, was 5592 sq. ft. of blank canvas that turned into an East Coast style bar, combining the look of colonial America with a contemporary feel. Outside of the Commonwealth entrance, a custom bronzed feather, laid in the cement, notates 2012 as the year in which the bar was established. The inside features rich, dark-stained woodwork, custom-carved doors and panels, exposed original beams, copper ceiling tiles, and old photographs and newspaper articles serving as wallpaper. The rooftop level features a spectacular view of Fremont Street, exposed brick, as well as a custom bar covered in 22,000 pennies. Precise details in the furniture and finishes enhance the ambiance of this space and make Commonwealth a staple to the downtown scene.
